DESTRUCTION: War on nature
DESTRUCTION: War on nature

Mixed media (25cmx25cmx20cm)

Originally, my thinking behind my ‘DESTRUCTION’ series of artworks was to focus initially on armed conflicts going on around the world and its impact on humanity be it in areas such as social, environmental or political issues. Now that the works are evolving, there is a conflict that sits above them all … the war on nature. A war where humanity will never be the victor.

Having revisited my environmental issues artworks, this is a war that we are inflicting not just on ourselves, but on every other living creature on the planet ... and indeed, the planet itself.

This work focuses on the environmental damage from plastic grass. Frequently, I have commented on the health issue of plastics and the pollution crisis facing us.

‘DESTRUCTION: War on nature’ is a reflective piece on a future where humanity have long since been eradicated from the planet, and where other creatures have to fight for survival amongst the damage we have inflicted. The soil has been destroyed and supports little life, and our final fossil record is plastic.
