Success at The RSA's online open art exhibition 2022

'Drowning in plastic: this bag is not a toy' meets the grade
09/03/2022
I’m delighted to hear that one of my earlier works 'Drowning in plastic: this bag is not a toy’ has been selected for The Royal Scottish Academy's online open exhibition 2022.

The RSA Annual Exhibition is the most extensive exhibition of contemporary art and architecture in Scotland. A mainstay of the academy’s calendar since its inception 196 years ago, the Exhibition has evolved over the years, showcasing Scottish art alongside invited international artists, often including topical or political elements, to give an uncensored, independent voice to artists on issues that matter to them. The online exhibition option arose in response to COVID and enabled more works to be selected and extend the audience reach.

Given my focus of late on environmental artwork, I opted to submit this piece for consideration as plastic pollution is, alongside climate change, one of the 2 most critical issues facing humanity.
